The Kotoka International Airport in Ghana has experienced significant growth in passenger throughput.

As of 2023, the airport’s international passenger throughput reached approximately 2.14 million, nearing pre-pandemic levels.

The airport is designed to handle 5 million passengers annually and process 1,250 passengers per hour.

In 2024, international passenger numbers continued to show recovery, with figures surpassing those of 2022 by the third quarter.

The Hajj numbers average 5000 people a year. Let’s assume we will increase this to 50,000 a year.

We still have Terminals One and Two. Can we retrofit Terminal Two for Hajj and optimize the use of that infrastructure for this purpose?

Is it possible to use Terminal One for domestic flights in the month of Hajj so that Terminal Two can focus on Hajj when it’s time for the pilgrimage?
