An electoral petition contesting Frank Annoh-Dompreh’s election as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency in the general election of 2024 was denied by the Koforidua High Court.

Following a legal appeal submitted by Gary Nimako Marfo, the Director of Legal Affairs for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the court dismissed the petition yesterday, April 8, 2025, which attempted to nullify the election of the Minority Chief Whip in Parliament.

Justice Krofa Addae, the presiding judge, decided in favor of a motion to dismiss the case.

According to him, the court determined that the results announced by the Electoral Commission (EC) accurately represented the will of the electorate and rejected the petitioner’s arguments.

The court imposed GH¢25,000 in costs on the petitioner as part of the ruling.

Amenorpe Philibert Fummey, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) parliamentary candidate, is the petitioner in this lawsuit.

Mr. Annoh-Dompreh praised the court’s ruling, stating that it was a confirmation of his election win and the trust that the people of the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency had placed in him.
