A new political figure is making advances in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, with her sights set on Deputy Agriculture Minister and incumbent MP John Dumelo.
Prior to the 2028 general elections, Barbara Quashigah, a 39-year-old philanthropist, entrepreneur, and international business consultant, has announced her intention to run in the NPP’s parliamentary primaries in order to become the party’s candidate in the constituency.
Quashigah is already engaged on the ground; she has been seen watching the Ghana vs. England World Cup with University of Ghana students, sharing food with the Muslim community during Eid celebrations, and joining students for a UEFA Champions League viewing session on campus.
She recently added a qualification to her resume after graduating from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center.
Quashigah is the daughter of the late Major Courage Emmanuel Kobla Quashigah, a statesman, politician, and soldier who held many ministerial posts under former President Kufuor from 2001 and 2009.
