President John Dramani Mahama has announced further changes to his government, including new ministerial appointments and the reassignment of a deputy minister to a presidential advisory role.
Under the latest government reshuffle, Hon. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has been reassigned from his position as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation to serve as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.
He will be replaced at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Job Creation by Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, who will take over responsibility for labour policy, employment programmes and job creation initiatives.
President Mahama has also reassigned Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi, to serve as Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.
The latest ministerial changes form part of the government’s efforts to strengthen public administration, improve coordination and enhance the effectiveness of key government institutions.
The new appointments and reassignments take immediate effect, according to the announcement from the Presidency.
The changes are expected to influence the government’s approach to job creation, employment policy, national resilience, emergency preparedness and the implementation of key development programmes.
