For Form 2 pupils enrolling in Senior High and senior high technical schools using the transitional track system, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has approved an optional Easter vacation.
In order to accommodate students who would like to spend the holiday season with their families, the break is set to run from Thursday, April 17, to Monday, April 21, 2025.
The GES stressed that the vacation is optional in a directive sent to all regional directors of education on April 11, 2025.
The statement said, “Students should be given the opportunity to travel home and celebrate the Easter festivities with their families if they so choose.”
Students who choose to stay on campus, however, will be permitted to do so as long as they are properly supervised.
To guarantee the prompt resumption of academic activities, the GES additionally mandated that all traveling students return to school by Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
Disseminating the information to impacted school heads for execution has been assigned to regional directors.
On behalf of the Acting Director-General of GES, Prince C. Agyemang-Duah (Mr.), Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, signed the statement.
