The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Ashanti West Region has started building 11 KV distribution lines (feeders) to enhance the region’s Atwima Kwanwoma district’s power supply.

The project, which is expected to cost around GHc 2,287,841.31, will involve the installation of 85 new high-tension poles, 11KV headgear, new conductor stringing, and other components.

The project is anticipated to be finished this year, and Mr. George Amoah, Ashanti West Regional Manager of the ECG, told the Ghana News Agency that it was 40% finished.

He mentioned that in an attempt to alleviate the KV Kokoben and Ampabame feeders, a new KV feeder was being built from the Kumasi Asekyem Primary Substation.

He claimed that there had been a notable increase in traffic heading towards the Ampabame enclave, which had been made worse by the continuous road building and the enormous infrastructure boom that had occurred there.

According to Mr. Amoah, the project would enhance the enclave’s dependable and consistent power supply, lower system losses, improve the voltage profile, and encourage operational flexibility and efficiency.

Customers in and near Ahenema Kokoben, Trede, Heman, and Darko would benefit, he claimed, if the distribution line was completed successfully.

Additionally, the project would benefit clients in Ampatia, Ampabame, Kotwi, Pakyi, Bebu, Brofoyedru, Bekwaime, and the surrounding areas.

According to Mr. Amoah, the ECG is implementing comparable initiatives around the region to enhance its consumers’ access to electricity.

According to him, the initiatives were a positive step toward achieving the ECG’s goal of offering consumers safe, dependable, and high-quality energy services to promote the nation’s socioeconomic development.

Once more, Mr. Amoah stated that the establishment of a steady and dependable power supply would draw companies to the area and ensure that clients were pleased with the ECG’s services.

In order to help the ECG better serve its citizens, he asked them to stop using illicit power connections and to pay their bills on time.
