The One Million Coders Program is a national effort that aims to teach one million Ghanaians digital skills and coding in order to foster creativity, job development, and economic progress.

At a ceremony conducted in Accra on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the program was formally presented. Satellite activities were planned throughout the nation.

Key government, technological, and development partner stakeholders were present at the event.

At the launch, Sam Nartey George, Minister of Communications, Digital Innovation, and Technologies, emphasized the importance of making investments in Ghana’s digital future.

“We are at a defining moment in Ghana’s digital journey—one that demands urgency and bold investment in our people. This initiative is not just about learning to code; it’s about equipping Ghanaians with the tools to drive inclusive growth and build a resilient digital economy,” he reiterated.

The program’s overarching objective is to establish Ghana as a leader in Africa’s digital economy by offering easily accessible training opportunities to professionals, youth, and marginalized communities.
