The three-day tour of a few Western schools by the Parliamentary Committee on Education has come to an end.

A three-day nationwide tour of a few senior high schools in the Western region has been finalized by the Select Committee on Education.

The purpose of the fact-finding tour is to analyze the difficulties faced by certain private universities as well as the overall impact, difficulties, and efficacy of the double-track system at a few senior high schools.

Speaking to a few school heads during the tour, Hon. Nortsu-Kortoe, the MP for Akatsi North and chairman of the Education Committee, stated that the committee’s purpose is not to witch hunt but rather to gather information, offer advice, gather suggestions, and make recommendations on the difficulties facing the government so that they can be appropriately addressed.

“We are here to acquaint ourselves to understand developments on site,” stated Mr. Nortsu-Kortoe. According to him, the government’s pledge to do away with the double-track system necessitates that the committee sample a few chosen institutions.

On the second day, the committee visited four schools in the Western Region: Daboase SHTS, Bompeh SHTS, Diabene SHTS, and Secondi College.
