Nursing students nationwide have received assurances from President John Dramani Mahama that their eagerly anticipated allowances, or “allawa,” will start to appear in their accounts the next month.
During his Thank You Tour in the North East Region, Mahama spoke to a durbar of chiefs in Nalerigu and declared that all procedures required for the payout had been completed.
With applause from the audience, he said, “I can assure you, your ‘allawa’ is being worked on and by next month, you’ll start receiving payment.”
Mahama underlined that his government is still dedicated to giving the nursing profession uniformity and respect, starting with prompt financial assistance for trainees.
Since July is now the anticipated month of payment, the announcement gives many nursing students who have been impatiently waiting for months new hope.
