President John Dramani Mahama has announced that today, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, will be Ghana’s first National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.

Through spiritual meditation, intercession, and appreciation for the country’s peace, stability, and common future, the event seeks to unite Ghanaians.

President Mahama will join the fellowship for a Christian prayer session at the State House forecourt at 8:00 am.

The Christian service’s special guest speaker is His Eminence Cardinal Peter Appiah Turkson.

In addition, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu will lead a Muslim prayer service in the National Mosque in Kanda at 12:30 p.m.

By encouraging people to reflect on their individual and communal experiences and reaffirm their commitment to the national ideals of discipline, unity, and hope, the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving serves as a symbolic initiative to promote national solidarity, introspection, and regeneration.

It is anticipated that all 16 regions and 261 districts will observe the event, bringing the country together in a shared spiritual pursuit.
