Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), a power distributor, claims it has been successful in recovering more than GHS3.1 billion from customers who have fallen behind on their payments during the last few weeks.

At a press conference on Thursday, May 4, 2023, Managing Director (MD), Mr. Samuel Dubik Mahama, revealed this.

The business is still holding out hope that it can collect more debts. The ECG MD additionally disclosed a compensation program for anyone in the general public who report unauthorized electricity connections.

The general public will get 6% of the total debt associated with any illegal power connections reported in their local communities.

Citizens who report unlawful connections will receive 6% of the money, according to Mr. Samuel Dubik Mahama, Managing Director(MD) of the ECG.

He made an appeal to the populace to take advantage of the chance to help the power distribution firm recover money owing to it.
