A teacher at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region has been placed under interdiction by the Ghana Education Service (GES) due to allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student.

The GES said in a statement on June 16, 2026, that it had learned of a troubling video that was making the rounds on social media and purportedly showed improper behaviour between a teacher and a student.

The statement written by Daniel Fenyi, GES’s head of public relations, states that management has already started looking into the situation to determine the incident’s facts.

The statement read, “Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has become aware of a disturbing video of an alleged sexual misconduct circulating on social media involving a teacher and a student of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region.”

The Service has ordered that the teacher be placed under interdiction in compliance with GES rules and regulations while the investigations are ongoing.

“Management has initiated investigations into the matter. Pending the outcome of the investigations, Management directs that the teacher is interdicted in accordance with GES rules and regulations,” the statement added.

All inappropriate connections between instructors and students were sharply denounced by the GES, which emphasised that such behaviour is undesirable and goes against the ethical norms required of education professionals.

“Management strongly condemns all forms of amorous relationships between teachers and students. The Service reiterates its zero-tolerance towards sexual misconduct and cautions all staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct at all times,” the statement stated.

The Service also reiterated its dedication to guaranteeing the security, safety, and welfare of students in all of the nation’s educational establishments. The public was reassured that anyone found guilty following an investigation would be subject to the proper disciplinary and penal repercussions.
