Sam George Distributes 3,500 Bags of Fertiliser to Ningo-Prampram Farmers Under Feed Ghana Programme
Samuel Nartey George, Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram and Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, has distributed 3,500 bags of 50-kilogramme fertiliser to crop farmers in the constituency as part of the Government’s Feed Ghana Programme.
The fertiliser distribution forms part of ongoing efforts to improve agricultural productivity, strengthen food security in Ghana, and support farmers with essential farm inputs to boost crop production and rural livelihoods.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. George said the initiative demonstrates the Government’s commitment, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, to transforming Ghana’s agricultural sector through strategic interventions that empower local farmers.
According to the MP, the Feed Ghana Programme is designed to increase food production, reduce Ghana’s reliance on imported food, and create sustainable employment opportunities within the agriculture value chain.
He encouraged beneficiaries to make efficient use of the fertiliser to improve crop yields, increase farm productivity, and contribute to the country’s long-term food security and economic growth.
Beneficiary farmers welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely support that would significantly reduce the cost of farm inputs during the planting season. They expressed appreciation to both the Government and their Member of Parliament, noting that the assistance would help them expand production, improve harvests, and increase household incomes.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Raphael Uriel Nartey, District Chief Executive for the Ningo-Prampram District Assembly; Issah Adamu Vanguard, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman; constituency executives, party supporters, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
