Four Ghanaians arrested by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) over an alleged attempt to export nearly four tonnes of cocaine from Ghana to France have been formally charged and arraigned before the High Court in Accra.
The accused persons are Desmond Koranteng Curiel, also known as “Paul Kweku Yeboah” or “Biggs”; Musah Attah, alias “Kromo”; Kweku Otchere; and Jessica Hartog.
They appeared before the High Court in Accra on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in connection with the alleged international cocaine trafficking operation.
Following their arraignment, the four accused persons were remanded for four weeks and are expected to return to court on October 13, 2026.
A fifth suspect, Dutch national Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as “Bolle Jos,” has also been named in the case but is reportedly at large.
Charges Against the Four Suspects
The accused persons are facing two criminal charges relating to the alleged trafficking and exportation of narcotic drugs.
The first charge is conspiracy to commit a crime, specifically the alleged exportation of narcotic drugs without a licence issued by the Minister of Health.
The second charge relates directly to the exportation of narcotic drugs.
The charges were filed at the court on Wednesday, September 16, with proceedings taking place shortly afterwards.
Nearly 3.9 Tonnes of Cocaine Seized in France
The case follows a major cocaine seizure in France by French customs authorities on September 10, 2026.
Authorities reportedly intercepted approximately 3.9 tonnes of cocaine at the northern French port of Dunkirk. The shipment, which was concealed inside a container carrying plastic waste, had arrived from Ghana.
The seized cocaine is estimated to have a street value of about €225 million, making it one of the significant international narcotics seizures linked to Ghana in recent times.
Reports indicate that part of the shipment was allegedly intended for Antwerp, Belgium, raising concerns about an international drug trafficking network operating across multiple countries.
NACOC Investigates Alleged Ghana Connection
After the cocaine seizure, the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) announced the arrest of three suspects in Ghana over their alleged connection to the shipment.
According to NACOC, the suspects were allegedly involved in representing and facilitating the activities of Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, also known as “Bolle Jos,” in Ghana.
The commission has since been collaborating with French law enforcement authorities to obtain additional information about the seized cocaine shipment.
The information is expected to assist Ghanaian investigators in establishing how the alleged narcotics consignment was prepared and transported from Ghana to France.
The latest court proceedings form part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged international cocaine trafficking operation and the roles of the individuals accused in the case.
All the accused persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
