Hon. Akwasi Konadu, the Manhyia North member of parliament, has paid respects to the late legendary Ghanaian artist Charles Kwadwo Fosu, well known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra after a brief illness.

As a true maestro and an icon whose impact cut across national boundaries and generations, he was hailed as one of Ghana’s greatest musical icons.

He hailed him as a pioneer and a torchbearer who continuously created timeless music that was replete with poignant commentary and wise counsel.

“His works were not just songs; they were experiences, carefully crafted pieces that touched hearts and stirred consciences,” he stated.

Hon. Adelaide Ntim, the Member of Parliament for Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo, also spoke before the House and made a remark regarding the musician’s passing.

She urged the government and the Honorable House to think about giving the late icon national honors, which would include a state-sponsored funeral.

She also urged the creation of programs to protect and advance his musical heritage for upcoming generations.

“Let us remember Charles Kwadwo Fosu not just with tears, but with pride for the gift he was to our nation,” she concluded.
