The Black Queens’ outstanding third-place result at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco prompted a celebration in Parliament.
The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Kofi Adams, spoke to the House during their official visit, formally congratulating the team on their outstanding accomplishment and praising them for raising Ghana’s profile on the continent.
The team was also given a GHS 100,000 cash gift by the Minority Caucus and its Minority Leader, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, in appreciation of their exceptional performance and sense of patriotism.
In their congrats, the members of parliament reaffirmed the need for a real national investment fund for the team and all of the nation’s sports.
