Hon. Mahama Shaibu, the chairman of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, visited the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), where they were met by Mr. Kissi Agyebeng, the Special Prosecutor, and his staff.

OSP’s biggest problem is that the office does not have enough money for security, specialist cars, and salary increases.

It was also suggested that chapter 24 of the constitution be revised and the presumption of corruption be substituted.

The Committee then went to the Office of Copyright. A revised copyright registration system, changes to the Fees and Charges Act, and more funding are all necessary, according to Mr. William Akwetey Bonsu, Principal State Attorney in Charge of the Copyright Office of Ghana.

Hon. Sulemana Tampuli Alhassan, the Deputy Ranking, urged the Copyrights office to be creative and utilize technology effectively.

At the Economic and Organized Crime office (EOCO), where the Committee wrapped up its familiarization visit, Mr. Raymond Archer, the Acting Executive Director, said that the EOCO faced challenges from a variety of sources, including a lack of conditions of service, asset management, asset confiscation, and limited funding.

The Committee Chairman promised the institutions that he would discuss their issues with the Sector Minister.
