Junior, a 24-year-old mobile money dealer, was killed at his Kumasi residence in Kwadaso Onion Market.
The catastrophic event is said to have happened on Saturday, March 8, 2025. At the Kumasi Race Course, Junior, a native of Ejisu Onwe, was well-known for his diligence and hard labor.
On the night of the incident, witnesses said that Junior had brought more than GH₵200,000 back to his house.
There is conjecture that the substantial amount he possessed would have served as motivation for the murderers.
Although the murder has been investigated by the police, no one has been taken into custody as of yet. The neighborhood is in disbelief over the occurrence.
Concerns regarding the safety of mobile money vendors, who often handle substantial sums of cash and are usually the targets of armed attacks, have also been rekindled by Junior’s passing.
Residents and business owners are demanding justice and increased protection as investigations continue in order to stop other attacks on MoMo merchants.
