Accident Victims Rescued by GNFS on Asukawkaw Mountain in the Oti Region.

The Oti Regional Fire Officer (RFO) received a distress call on his personal phone, informing him of an accident. An appliance was sent out and reached the scene.

The trailer truck involved in the collision had the registration numbers 3676 BG on the head and 5472 AW on the trailer that contained a variety of alcoholic beverages.

Onlookers arrived at the scene and successfully rescued two (2) of the trapped victims, leaving one other person inside the mangled truck.

The RFO-led crew was joined by DO III Benjamin Gbekle, the Dambai Municipal Fire Officer (MFO); the OIC of operations, Steven Agortor; his 2IC, ADO I LFM Maxwell Ashong; ADO I Samuel Annan, the Regional PRO; and the on-duty crew (STNO II Twumasi Prempeh Thomas, who is in charge of the on-duty watch)

After being freed, all trapped victims with varying degrees of injury were turned over to the ambulance service, who took them to the government hospital in Worawora for medical attention.

The accident’s cause is still being investigated.
