A ruling from the High Court of England and Wales against businessman Nana Kwame Bediako, often known as Cheddar, has been implemented by the High Court (Commercial Division) in Accra.

The ruling requires Bediako to pay Cola Holdings Limited, a UK-based firm, about US$14.9 million plus interest and expenses.

A note that appeared in the Daily Graphic on Thursday, January 22, 2026, states that the overseas judgement was officially registered in Ghana on May 20, 2025, after Cola Holdings Limited requested that the English court’s ruling be acknowledged and upheld locally.

The case, which was filed before the High Court’s Commercial Division in Accra, is based on a ruling that was first given on January 23, 2025, by Deputy Master Sabic KC of the High Court of England and Wales. Variations were then granted in March and April of the same year.

The ruling became enforceable and legally binding in Ghana after it was registered.

Nana Kwame Bediako has been ordered by the court to pay US$14,928,314.70 as the principal judgement debt, with interest calculated at an annual rate of eight percent starting on January 23, 2025, until the whole amount is paid. The total amount of accrued interest as on December 23, 2025, was US$1,092,834.64.

Cola Holdings Limited was also given GH₵15,000 in legal fees by the court.

According to the court notice, the entire sum owing, including interest and charges, is about GH₵258.76 million based on the current Treasury exchange rate of GH₵16.15 to the US dollar.

The overall amount is still subject to increase as interest continues to accrue until the debt is entirely settled.

The court also issued an order for substituted service, allowing the judgement to be served by posting copies at the respondent’s residence at 13 Avenue Lincoln, Osu, the High Court notice board, and a one-time publishing in the Daily Graphic.

The notices are to be placed for seven days.
