Just hours after the release of his seventh album, “JAMZ,” Sarkodie joined Boomplay’s Golden Club after reaching a historic 100M streams on the continent of Africa’s largest music streaming and download platform.
The Ghanaian rapper, who has won two BET Awards, surpasses Black Sherif to become the second Ghanaian artist to accumulate 100 million streams. He has had an incredible run with his past singles and most recent album “JAMZ.”
He follows in the footsteps of other artists like as Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Diamond Platinumz, Fireboy DML, Joeboy, Ayra Starr, Fireboy, Asake, Adekunle Gold, Pheelz, Kizz Daniel, Ruger, Mayorkun, Omah Lay, and Rayvanny who have reached and surpassed the 100M streaming milestone.
Sarkodie stopped by the Boomplay office earlier on Thursday as part of his pre-release promotions for the “Jamz” album.

According to Boomplay’s 2021 Recap, an annual campaign that displays statistics and insights of artist performances based on music consumption by users across Boomplay’s operational zones under a defined year in review, Sarkodie was the most streamed musician on the platform in 2021.
