Due to the unpredictability of the security situation in Abuja, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has advised Ghanaian nationals to stay away from unnecessary trips there.
Due to the increased risk of terrorism, crime, intercommunal violence, armed attacks, and kidnappings, local authorities in Abuja recently ordered hotels operating in residential complexes to close.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Foreign Affairs Ministry encouraged anybody who might need to travel to Abuja to exercise caution.
“The Ministry will continue to monitor the situation,” it was noted. “When the situation improves, the Ministry will issue updates to the public.”
