A third Swedru School of Business student, Joseph Amoh, 20, has been arrested in connection with the mob assault on a student at Obrachire Senior High Technical School, bringing the total number of suspects in custody to three, according to the Ghana Police Service.
In a statement made by the Central Regional Command’s Public Affairs Unit on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, and signed by Chief Inspector Isaac Evans Ettie, the police identified Amoh as the third suspect, along with Benedict Appiah, 18, and Bilal Mamud, 18.
All three are Swedru School of Business students who will appear in court.
School officials turned up the suspects to the Swedru Divisional Police Command on February 23, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m.
Commissioner of Police Lydia Yaako Donkor, the Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department, met with the school’s administration on the same day and gave them a 24-hour deadline to produce students connected to the attack.
The Central Regional Command called on the population, especially students, to abstain from acts of violence and denounced the behavior of the participating students.
The incident happened at Agona Swedru on February 19, 2026, during the District Schools Athletics Games. A group allegedly from the Swedru School of Business attacked a kid at Obrachire Senior High Technical School.
According to COP Donkor, the primary victim is responding to care and undergoing therapy.
Police stated that investigations are still on and issued a warning that anyone found to be at fault will be held accountable.
