The Ghana Prisons Service has received a variety of food products from the Interior Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, to aid prisoners nationwide during the month of Ramadan.
Bags of rice, cartons of tomato paste, bags of sugar, gallons of cooking oil, and amounts of milk and other basic food staples were among the products.
In order to supplement the feeding of prisoners, especially Muslim convicts who are observing the holy month of Ramadan, the supplies are anticipated to be delivered to significant prison facilities across the country.
Hon Muntaka expressed gratitude to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, the CEO of Engineers and Planners, for his ongoing assistance to the Service.
He said the act showed empathy and support for prisoners, many of whom are pursuing rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

The Minister emphasised the value of helping prisoners during Ramadan, characterising the time as a time for introspection, selflessness, and spiritual rejuvenation.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare and living conditions of those incarcerated while also praising their tenacity.
Dr Francis Omane Addo, the Deputy Director-General of Prisons in charge of Operations, accepted the goods and thanked Mr Ibrahim Mahama for his ongoing support of the Service as well as the Minister for his ongoing advocacy on the Service’s behalf.
The Minister was given the assurance by Dr. Omane Addo that the donated goods would be used effectively and dispersed suitably to help prisoners in all of the specified jail facilities.
