Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty Adorye has sued self-proclaimed evangelist Patricia Asiedua, also known as Nana Agradaa, in the Tema High Court.
Empress Gifty filed the defamation complaint at the Tema High Court on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, through her attorneys, Osei Aidoh Akpokavie and Co., according to court documents released by the gospel singer’s husband, Hopeson Adorye.
Although the specifics of the lawsuit are still unknown, the singer has filed four allegations in her statement of claim, including GH₵20,000,000 for libel and slander damages.
Additionally, she has asked the court to grant the former fetish priestess a permanent injunction that would prevent Agradaa, “her servants, agents, privies, and assigns howsoever from publishing such words or any of them or similar words to that effect.”
She also requested “costs, including lawyers’ professional fees” and “an order for the defendant to remove all videos and audios in which she spoke words defamatory of the plaintiff from all her social media platforms.”
Agradaa has been accusing the gospel singer of a number of things in recent posts, including live footage posted on her Facebook page.
