Amaechi Muonagor, a veteran of Nollywood cinema, passed away at the age of 62 following a long battle with illness.
According to reports, Muonagor was receiving dialysis due to renal insufficiency.
It was just a few days after a widely shared video in which he raised money for a kidney transplant before the unexpected news of his death.
Muonagor, an Anambra native from Idemili, was born on August 20, 1962, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He was both a producer and an actor. He received a nomination in 2016 for the AMVCA 2017 Best Actor in a Comedy.
Following his youth service, Muonagor began employment with the News Agency of Nigeria in 1989. A few years later, he quit his work to play the lead part of Akunatakasi in the Nigerian film Taboo 1.
