President John Dramani Mahama has sworn into office Mahama Ayariga as the new Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, and Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidency, marking the official commencement of their duties as members of President Mahama’s administration.
During the ceremony, President Mahama urged the newly appointed ministers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, humility, fairness and accountability as they discharge their responsibilities.
The President reminded them that serving in public office is both a privilege and a significant responsibility. He emphasized the need for the ministers to respect and uphold the 1992 Constitution of Ghana while making decisions that prioritize the welfare and interests of the Ghanaian people.
President Mahama further encouraged the two ministers to put the national interest ahead of personal and political considerations and work toward improving governance, public service delivery and sustainable national development.
