Ghana and WAFU B Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies kicked start their CAF Women’s Champions league campaign with a stellar win over defending champions AS FAR Club on Monday evening.

In a very topsy turvy encounter, AS FAR Club was looking for a quick opening in the beginning which became a reality on the 15th minute when Najat Badri fire them in front.

Tracey Twum came close to producing the some few minutes later but her efforts went a bit wide on the 45th minute of action.

Joe Nana Adarkwa made a substitution in the second half, where Mary Amponsah came up front for Maybel Amoyaw.

Comfort Yeboah pulled parity on the 56th after Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah’s corner kick was ballooned away and she latched on that with a powerful strike.

The defensive stalwart came to party few minutes after with her second of the afternoon on the 62nd minute with another strike to put the Ghana and WAFU B champions in front.

After 8 minutes of additional time, team Ampem Darkoa emerged winners and the results leaves them on top of Group B with 3 points.

Comfort Yeboah was named player of the match after delivering those two quick goals.

The team will now face AS Mande on Thursday 8:00pm at the Stade Laurent Pokou in the second group game.
