The Ghana Police Service in the Western Region has declared a suspect, Sule Anas, sought in connection with suspected defilement and unnatural carnal knowledge involving two juveniles at Fijai Zongo Central near Sekondi.
The suspect, identified as an Arabic teacher, had been hired by leaders of the Fijai Zongo Central community to instruct children in Arabic on the weekends, according to a police statement released by the Western Regional Police Command on May 21, 2026, and signed by Superintendent Olivia ET Adiku, Head of Public Affairs.
According to police investigations, the suspect allegedly defiled and sodomised the youngsters after luring them into a mosque storehouse under the guise of performing spiritual cleaning rites.
The police revealed that on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the Gender Court in Sekondi issued an arrest warrant for Sule Anas.
The suspect is described as being about 5.7 feet tall and having a fair complexion.
The culprit may be hiding in Togo or Côte d’Ivoire, according to the authorities.
The public has been asked by the Western Regional Police Command to provide reliable information on the suspect’s location.
To help in the arrest of the culprit, the Command asked anybody with information to call emergency numbers 191 or 112, report to the closest police station, or get in touch with the Western Regional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU).
