The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has settled all outstanding per diem payments owed to Ghana’s U-20 women’s national team, the Black Princesses, following their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualification match against Tunisia.
The team, coached by Charles Sampson, had been waiting for concessions for the time they spent in camp during last year’s two-legged match against their North African opponents.
Despite the delay, the Princesses produced an outstanding performance, defeating Tunisia 4-1 on aggregate to advance to the next round of qualifiers.
With preparations escalating for their next third-round match against South Africa next month, the Ministry has moved to clear the unpaid payments, barely three weeks before the vital fixture.
The Black Princesses are boosted in confidence by the prompt intervention as they aim to defeat South Africa and continue their pursuit of a second FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup appearance.
