Former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Weija Gbawe Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.

Tina Ayele Mensah, MP for Weija-Gbawe, has expressed her great sadness over this loss.

The MP has stated publicly that she feels Mr. Kumor’s dismissal from office in February 2024 was an unfair decision driven by political considerations, which is why she believes he passed away.

She claimed that this played a part in his health decline, which ultimately led to his elevated blood pressure.

Speaking out about the tragic loss, Madam Mensah, a former deputy minister for health who was also removed from office at the same time, claimed that Mr. Kumor’s dismissal from office was mostly due to his steadfast support inside the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for her re-election attempt.

She has insisted that the only alleged “mistake” made by the former MCE was supporting her in the parliamentary primaries, which she lost.

“My late MCE did not deserve to be dismissed from his duties. His only fault was supporting me during a challenging time, and for that, he paid the ultimate price,” lamented Ms Mensah.

“Patrick is not strong like me. If you sack me, I don’t care, but Patrick is not like me. Patrick couldn’t stop thinking about his sack and his blood pressure kept rising. ‘Afei se asa’ (it is finished), Patrick is gone,” she indicated.
