The theft of building supplies has caused the Jinijini-Sampa Road Project in the Bono Region’s Berekum West District to slow considerably.

According to the contractor, Rango building Limited, gravel theft at some parts of the road is slowing down building efforts and might have an impact on how quickly work moves forward if the issue is not resolved.

The government’s Big Push infrastructure program, which aims to improve road networks and boost connectivity throughout the nation, includes the Jinijini-Sampa Road Project.

Felix Agyei, the public relations officer for Rango Construction Limited, revealed the issue during a ceremony in Jinijini where the Berekum West District Assembly gave 57 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) tools, equipment, and other forms of support.

Felix Agyei urged locals in the communities along the project corridor to support efforts to safeguard materials meant for the road’s development, stating that the theft of materials from sections of the road was posing difficulties for the building team.

According to him, the availability and appropriate handling of building supplies were crucial to guaranteeing that the project went according to schedule.

It is anticipated that the Jinijini-Sampa Road Project will enhance mobility throughout the corridor, make it easier for people and commodities to travel, and boost local economies.

Mr. Agyei also voiced optimism over the project’s completion, adding that it was anticipated to be finished by the end of 2028.

However, he asked locals to assist in safeguarding building supplies and other resources being sent to the location so that the project could move forward without needless delays.
