After the rapper threatened to reveal his claimed role in the death of late artist manager Fennec Okyere in a social media post on Wednesday, November 2, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bullgod, sued Shatta Wale for defamation.

Bullgod’s attorneys stated in the writ submitted to an Accra High Court that these remarks aim to imply that the plaintiff planned, carried out, or assisted in Mr. Okyere’s killing.

Shatta Wale’s assertions, they said, also implied that the plaintiff was a criminal gangster who posed a threat to society and should be imprisoned (rather than walk freely in the streets). Bullgod is asking the court to rule that these claims, along with others cited in the lawsuit, are false and malicious.

In addition, he asks the court to order Shatta Wale to apologize to him and withdraw his claims “on all of his social media pages or accounts, on seven consecutive days to be reviewed and approved by the Plaintiff’s lawyers.”

Along with general damages for defamation, special damages for defamation, punitive damages for the malicious publication of falsehood at all costs, and any other orders or remedies that the Court may deem appropriate, he is also requesting a perpetual injunction that prevents Shatta Wale from publishing any defamatory comments against him.
