A 23-man team has been formally announced by Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz for the May 22, 2026, international friendly versus Mexico.
This is Queiroz’s first squad announcement after taking over in April 2026, and it includes a mix of important returnees, indigenous Ghana Premier League players, and stars from Europe.
Ibrahim Osman of Birmingham City, Felix Afena-Gyan, Razak Simpson, and Majeed Ashimeru are notable figures. After a protracted period of absence owing to a muscle ailment that restricted his club and national appearances, Ashimeru is back in play.
Felix Afena-Gyan, who last played for Ghana in May of last year at the Unity Cup in London versus Trinidad and Tobago, is also on the squad.
The team also includes Paul Reverson of Ajax FC, Ebenezer Annan of AS Saint-Étienne, Ibrahim Osman of Birmingham City, and Abdul Aziz Issah of Barcelona B.
The squad of home-based players is led by midfielder Salim Adams, a vital member of Medeama SC, the top team in the Ghana Premier League.
Other players include Razak Simpson, the captain of Nations FC, Ebenezer Abban of Heart of Lions, and Ebenezer Adade of Dreams FC.
On Friday, May 22, 2026, Ghana will go to Mexico for the international friendly.
