Changes in the top hierarchy of the police have been implemented immediately by Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

The IGP notified the new command adjustments in a letter headed “Postings – Senior Police Officers,” dated February 2, 2026.

Commissioner of Police (COP) Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba is reassigned from Director-General, Technical to Director-General, National Police Academy and Training Directorate, and COP Iddi Lansah Seidu is reassigned from Welfare to Technical.

COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe has been transferred from the Police Professional Standards Bureau to Operations, and COP Dr. Vance Baba Gariba has been moved from Operations to Research and Planning.

DCOP Eric Ken Winful joins the Police Academy to work in Welfare, and DCOP Darko Offei Lomotey transfers from Research and Planning to the Police Professional Standards Bureau.

At the regional level, DCOP George B. Ohene Boadi assumes the role of Central Regional Commander, while DCOP Charles K. Adu relocates from Central Region to Eastern South Region.

Other moves include DCOP Alex Kodjo Wowolo, Director/ICT National Headquarters, moving to Central MTTD, Ashanti Region, and DCOP George Ankomah to Eastern North Region.
