Menzgold’s disgruntled clients have once again urged President John Dramani Mahama to follow what they see as his pre-election pledge to assist them in getting their locked-up monies back.
The customers cautioned that more victims would perish from despair over not being able to access their money if immediate action is not taken.
Their repeated request coincides with Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1), the CEO of the now-defunct gold business, starting his cross-examination following the conclusion of his major testimony in court.
Frederick Forson, the convener of the disgruntled customers, told the media following the proceedings that the group has given the government a 21-day deadline to account for what they believe is GH¢5.4 million left behind by the previous administration.
Mr. Forson maintained that many impacted people continue to endure extreme hardship while the matter is still pending in court and urged the government to take action to assist clients in recovering their assets.
