Popularly known as Davido, the Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke has revealed some shocking details about his early career in the music business.

The brilliant singer admitted to using extreme tactics, such as robbing his father of his property, to fund his musical ambitions in an interview with ABtalks.

Davido told the tale, describing how his father, Adedeji Adeleke, first disapproved of his desire to pursue music and declined to offer financial support.

The DMW boss revealed that this occurred when he wanted to return to Nigeria but ran into opposition from his father at a pivotal juncture in his career.

The motivated artist decided to take matters into his own hands and look for other ways to pay for his aspirations.

Davido admitted that in order to get the money he needed, he had to resort to selling off household belongings like televisions and had even considered selling his father’s cherished property, a Rolls Royce.

Recalling those daring moments, the singer shared, “So I blew up, remember I said that I told him I wanted to move back, but he disagreed. I ended up dropping out; he found out that I wasn’t in school for like a year. I broke into his house in Atlanta, sold all the TVs, sold his furniture. I almost sold his Rolls Royce because I was like, ‘Yeah, I want to do this music,’ but he didn’t want me to, so I was like, ‘You know what? I’m just about that crazy.’”
