The Essikado-Ketan Constituency in the Western Region of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is pleading with Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah to reconsider her decision to withdraw from the next parliamentary primary.
This comes after some NDC members on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, petitioned the screening committee against what they deemed the inclusion of an ineligible candidate in the parliamentary primary.
The petitioners identified one factor that would reduce the candidate’s prospects of winning the 2024 elections: the candidate is unknown in the constituency and has not done much for the residents of Essikado-Ketan.
Dr. Kobi Spio-Garbrah is the allegedly disqualified candidate, according to the petitioners, and since their request was disregarded, Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah made the decision to withdraw from the parliamentary primary.
Dr. Ayensu Danquah reportedly stated that she withdrew because she couldn’t run in an election with a fraud.
