Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has resigned as National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), expressing his desire to run for National Executive position in the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The former Odododiodio MP described his time in the position as a great honour and privilege in a statement released on Friday, stating that the decision came after serious consideration.

“It has been a great honour and privilege to serve His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana in this role. I am deeply grateful for the confidence reposed in me and for the opportunity to contribute to a programme that is transforming local infrastructure and improving lives across our communities,” he remarked.

Vanderpuye clarified that his resignation was motivated by a desire to improve Ghana’s democratic institutions and traditions while continuing to serve the party and the nation in a different capacity.

He continued stating that, “My resignation is to enable me pursue a National Executive position within our great party, the National Democratic Congress. This decision is driven by my desire to continue serving our party and country in a different capacity, while contributing to the strengthening of our democratic traditions and institutions,”

The outgoing coordinator said he was leaving office proud of the work completed under the program and reaffirmed his unshakeable commitment to President Mahama’s vision and the NDC’s beliefs.

“I leave office with immense gratitude, proud of the work we have accomplished together and optimistic about the future of DRIP,” he stated.

Vanderpuye called for ongoing divine guidance in the nation’s collective duty as he concluded his remarks.
