Background
Ghana celebrates Farmers’ Day on the first Friday in December as a national holiday to recognize the contributions that farmers and fishermen make to the country’s economy and food security.
Exhibitions and awards for exceptional farmers are among the events of the day; the national event is usually hosted in a new location every year.
“Eat Ghana, Grow Ghana, Secure the Future” is the theme of the celebration, which will take place in the Volta Region in 2025.
