Daniel Krull, the German ambassador to Ghana, has reiterated Germany’s commitment to bolstering bilateral ties and assisting Ghana’s agenda on social protection and gender equality.
On Monday, February 24, 2025, Ambassador Krull made a courtesy call to Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, accompanied by Silvia Jansen, Deputy Head of Mission, to explore important areas of cooperation.
Ambassador Krull praised Ghana’s advancements in gender equality during the conference and complimented the nation on enacting the Affirmative Action Bill, which aims to close the gender gap in leadership and decision-making.
He also promised that Germany would work with the Ministry to strengthen child protection initiatives, prevent abuse, and empower women.
The Sector Minister reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to promoting inclusive development and praised Germany’s assistance.

“My intention is to do my best, bringing on board my experience to ensure that no one is left behind in our country’s development agenda,” she said.
Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey declared that a technical team would be formed to investigate funding sources that would supplement government grants and guarantee the successful completion of important Ministry programs and projects.
In addition, Ambassador Krull took advantage of the occasion to formally invite the Sector Minister as a Special Guest to an event that the German Embassy will host on March 4, 2025, to kick off this year’s International Women’s Day celebration.
Through policies that empower women, promote equal opportunities, and cultivate a more inclusive society, President John Mahama has steadfastly championed the goal of reducing vulnerability and advancing gender equality, which the engagement supports.
