Ghana generated an estimated $4.34 billion in tourism revenue in 2025 following the arrival of more than 1.3 million international tourists, according to the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dzifa Abla Gomashie.
The Tourism Minister disclosed the figures during the Government Accountability Series on Monday, August 10, 2026, where she highlighted key achievements and developments recorded in Ghana’s tourism, culture and creative arts sectors since assuming office.
Ghana Tourism Records Growth in International Arrivals
According to Dzifa Abla Gomashie, Ghana recorded 1,303,962 international tourist arrivals in 2025, representing an increase from the 1,288,804 international visitors recorded in 2024.
The rise in tourist arrivals contributed significantly to Ghana’s tourism economy, with international visitors generating an estimated US$4.34 billion in tourism receipts during the year.
The figures highlight the growing contribution of the tourism industry to Ghana’s economy, as the country continues to position itself as an attractive destination for international travellers.
Tourism Sector Boosts Ghana’s Economy
The Tourism Minister said developments in the tourism, culture and creative arts sector have contributed to increased economic activity, revenue generation and opportunities for businesses operating within the industry.
The latest tourism figures are expected to reinforce efforts to promote Ghana as a leading destination in Africa while supporting the growth of hospitality, cultural tourism, creative industries, travel and tourism-related businesses.
