Educating community members to adopt healthy behaviours has been at the core of the GoodLife Health Fairs being implemented across communities in Sagnarigu and Mamprugu Moagduri districts by Savana Signatures.
In collaboration with the Ghana Health Service , we are not only providing essential health services and commodities to the doorsteps of community members but also strongly focusing on educating attendees about various critical health issues. Our education have been on malaria prevention, family planning, reproductive health, maternal and newborn health, nutrition, mental health, and WASH.
In the last two days, the health fair caravan has been in the Malshegu Sub-district where Ghana Health Service staff have engaged people in the area on these health issues, and emphasised the importance of regular health check-ups rather than waiting for illness to strike them. Attendees were screened for hepatitis, HIV, malaria, breast and cervical cancer, and eye tests.
The GoodLife Health Fairs is a component of the USAID/ASBC Activity which is supporting communities in northern Ghana to take charge of their health for improved health outcomes.
