The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, and the various Service Chiefs of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have pledged their full cooperation and support to the newly appointed Minister for Defence, Honourable Kenneth Gilbert Adjei.
The commitment was made as the new Defence Minister officially assumed office at the Ministry of Defence on Monday, August 17, 2026.
The support from the military leadership is expected to strengthen collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and the Ghana Armed Forces as the new minister begins his responsibilities.
The partnership between the Defence Minister, the CDS and the Service Chiefs will be crucial in advancing Ghana’s national security, defence policy and military development, while ensuring effective coordination within the country’s defence sector.
Kenneth Gilbert Adjei’s assumption of office comes as the government continues efforts to strengthen Ghana’s defence institutions, improve national security and enhance the operational capacity of the Ghana Armed Forces.
