The High Commission of Ghana has issued an advisory to members of the Ghanaian community in South Africa, advising increased vigilance and strict adherence to personal safety precautions ahead of planned rallies in Pretoria on April 28.

According to the statement, the warning is especially important for residents and business owners in Pretoria, where the March Organisation is scheduled to hold rallies against the Presidency over immigration-related complaints.

Community members are encouraged to avoid places where protests are taking place and to be alert throughout the day.

People are advised not to attend public events that might turn violent, and store owners have been strongly advised to temporarily close their establishments as a precaution.

Additionally, the advise warns against keeping a prominent presence in public areas when protests are taking place.

Furthermore, the Ghanaian High Commission has cautioned against posting anything that can be interpreted as offensive or inflammatory on social media.

As it continues to closely monitor the situation in collaboration with local authorities, the mission stated that additional updates will be issued as needed.
