The gold reserves of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) have increased year over year, rising 38.7% between August 2024 and August 2025.

The central bank’s gold reserves increased from 25.97 tonnes in August 2024 to 36.02 tonnes at the end of August 2025, according to data made public.

The central bank’s persistent efforts to support Ghana’s gold reserves are demonstrated by the notable increase of over 10 tons of gold in only one year.

Gold holdings are also rising month over month, according to central bank data.

As reserves increased from 34.40 tonnes in July to 36.02 tonnes in August, they accumulated 1.62 tonnes during that month.

This indicates a roughly 4.7% increase in percentage from July to August.
