The Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador-designate to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Ali Ghomeshi, delivered his open letters to Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), the Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry’s headquarters on March 11, 2025.
The Minister gave the envoy his congratulations and conveyed gratitude for the two nations’ ongoing cooperation in fields like trade, investment, health, and education.
He applauded the Iranian government’s decision to include nursing and midwifery courses to the courses offered at the Islamic University of Ghana. Through the Iran Clinic, Iran provided humanitarian aid to the victims of the Kantamanto fire calamity, for which the government is grateful, he said.

During his remarks, H.E. Ghomeshi used the occasion to wish Ghana a happy 68th Independence Day commemoration.
He recalled the long-standing historical ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Ghana, promising to strengthen them in the political, cultural, and economic domains while on duty.
He also mentioned Iran’s capabilities in the fields of science and technology related to civil engineering and how Ghana could benefit from them. Accordingly, the Ambassador-Designate urged Ghanaians to attend the 7th Iran Expo 2025, which is set for April 2025 in Tehran.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to solid relationships and increased cooperation as the meeting came to a close.
