The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has taken notice of a statement released on April 4, 2025, by the Private Health Facilities Association of Ghana (PHFAoG), which stated that they intend to immediately suspend services to members of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) because of the delayed reimbursement.
In light of the concerns expressed by our esteemed service providers, the NHIA would like to reaffirm our steadfast dedication to promptly paying claims.
As previously announced in our news release, the payment procedures for unpaid claims have been completed, and reimbursement has begun as of yesterday, Friday, April 4, 2025.
We would like to reassure all parties involved, especially the PHFAoG and its members, that the Authority is currently making further payments that should settle all pending vetted claims and appear in providers’ accounts in the days ahead.
We are committed to maintaining the NHIS’s sustainability while fortifying our relationships with all service providers.
The NHIA encourages the PHFAoG to reverse any decision that would jeopardize our beloved NHIS members’ access to healthcare and is still willing to engage constructively with all parties involved.
We are dedicated to cooperating to find a peaceful solution to any lingering problems since we recognize the vital role private healthcare institutions play in providing healthcare.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation of all providers and look forward to working together going ahead to advance universal health coverage in Ghana.
We rely on your cooperation to keep the healthcare system open and effective for everyone.
