Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, is engaging Ghanaians on key issues surrounding local governance, development and government accountability.
The engagement forms part of his first government accountability series since assuming office, offering the Minister an opportunity to outline the Ministry’s programmes, priorities and achievements.
During the engagement, Mahama Ayariga is expected to provide updates on the government’s efforts to strengthen local government administration, decentralisation and community development across Ghana.
The session will also address concerns about local governance, public service delivery and development at the local level, while highlighting measures being implemented to improve accountability and ensure resources are effectively used for the benefit of communities.
The accountability engagement comes as the government seeks to deepen public participation in governance and improve transparency in the delivery of development projects across Ghana’s various regions and local authorities.
