Dr. Dominic Ayine, the Attorney General (A-G) and Minister of Justice, has been instructed by President John Dramani Mahama to begin looking into potential corruption cases that the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee has unearthed right away.
The instruction comes after the initiative’s thorough report on financial misconduct and the abuse of public funds was submitted.
President Mahama said the following after receiving the report on Monday, February 10: “I have promptly handed over the report to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice and given firm instructions to commence immediate investigations into the cases reported here.”
He also gave Dr. Ayine instructions to bring charges against those found guilty of corruption or similar offenses.
President Mahama stressed that corruption will no longer be accepted under his administration, sending a clear message to those trying to cheat the state.
“To those who believe they can deceive the state and avoid consequences, let this serve as a clear warning—Ghana will no longer tolerate corruption,” he said.
The President reassured Ghanaians that his administration is committed to integrity, accountability, and the rule of law, reaffirming his commitment to transparency and good governance.
“To those who stand for integrity, accountability, and the rule of law, I assure you that this government remains your steadfast partner in building a nation where honesty and hard work are rewarded,” he said.
The Attorney General’s office is anticipated to use the ORAL committee’s findings as a guide in its endeavors to recoup embezzled public cash and guarantee accountability in governance.
